Las Ramblas Golf Club at Villamartin, Orihuela Costa, Near Torrevieja, Spain. If you are looking to come to the Southern Costa Blanca to play golf you should play at Las Ramblas one of the best golf courses on the Costa Blanca. If you are contemplating playing a round of golf on your vacation in the Torrevieja area, you may check the local clubs and notice that Las Ramblas is quite a short course, “that will be a cinch” you think, but once you are standing on the first tee you will know that is not the case! Before you play Las Ramblas golf course check out the weather forecast, below we have the latest weather and forecast for the next 5 days: Club de Golf Las Ramblas de... WeatherLas Ramblas or as the Spanish say "Club De Golf Las Ramblas De Orihuela" is extremely short (about 6,500 yards off the whites) compared to some of the monsters that have been built recently, but I very much doubt that you will have ever seen a more ticklish or such a tight golf course before. It meanders around and across an old river bed (Ramblas) up and down the hills, with spectacular cliffs and ravines. The rough isn't very long at Las Ramblas Golf Course, but a slightly wayward shot will see you in pine or olive trees and a very wayward shot down a steep sided gorge. With several completely blind shots to cope with also, my advice would be to hit your shot only as far as you can see, so resist getting the driver out on every hole or you will lose loads of balls. A well placed shot with a five wood or long iron will give you a great chance to score a decent round. You should try to avoid the weekends at Las Ramblas Golf Course as it can be a little slow, but whether you are on holiday or an expat, this is Spain so what did you expect? Just put some cold drinks in your bag, take in the scenery and enjoy it. Don't forget your camera and get some great snaps from some the high points of the course. My only criticism is that a couple of the tees are a bit bare and a little bumpy, but the rest are usually very good, with several breathtaking shots across gorges. If you do hit your ball down one of the dreaded canyons, they are classed as lateral water hazards, so you can drop where the ball crossed the line and remember you don't have to actually find it! Of course you will see the occasional player take great risks searching for his scuffed old “favourite”, then climbing out of a crevasse with a bag full of one hit wonders. So take my best advice, try and relax, hit only as far as you can see and have a cracking game at Las Ramblas. For more golf advice and help please see Las Ramblas Golf Course. Las
