BUYING CARS ON THE COSTA BLANCA, SPAIN
Secondhand car prices are very high and the quality can be dubious. Like everywhere else cars can be clocked and there is less chance of finding out the history of a car to check if it is genuine. If however you go to a main dealer then their cars should have a manufacturers extended warranty with a full service history.
One positive is that in Spain cars hold their value more than say the UK so that will help when you come to sell or if you buy new (much less depreciation).
Buying new is a good option especially for smaller cars or you could buy a left-hand drive in England or elsewhere in Europe (good deals can be had in Germany). After six months you would need to ensure it is registered onto Spanish plates which is not as difficult as you might fear.
Unlike in the UK where servicing costs can be an outright rip-off costs are much more reasonable.
