Magaluf is the party capital of Mallorca boasting a variety of clubs, bars and other entertainment venues. The resort also has a lovely beach of fine white sand - regarded by many as the one of the best on the island - plus several local theme parks which attract families. MAGALUF NIGHTLIFEBCM is by far the biggest nightclub in Magaluf. Arranged over three levels, this popular nightspot regularly attracts some of the best European DJ's. The ground floor, known as BCM Millenium, is the venue for enormous popcorn and foam parties, while the upper floor is renowned for its stunning laser and light displays. The middle level usually attracts a slightly older crowd. Other well-known nightclubs in Magaluf include Boomerang, Bananas, Tokio Joe's and the 1970's inspired Carwash, notable for its foam parties. There are a couple of water parks within easy reach of the resort. The oldest of these is Aqualand Magaluf, which has some thrilling water slides and chutes such as the Kamikaze, Tornado and Black Hole. A new addition to the park is the Dragoland water playground designed for younger children. A short distance from Aqualand you will find the recently-opened Western Water Park. This Wild West inspired attraction has yet more exciting rides - Wild River, Big Hole and Tornado are a few examples - plus a selection of tamer ones for small children. The highlight of the park has to be the 260-metre long Mega Slide. The popular Pirates Adventure show has become an institution, and is for many people the highlight of their holiday in Magaluf. Since it started in the 1980's, the show has attracted around 3 million visitors. It takes place in a large custom-built theatre near the Aqua Park, using a life-sized model of a pirate ship as the set. The swashbuckling show tells the story of a group of sailors, led by Captain Morgan, who are forced to battle an evil pirate on the high seas. The evening's entertainment comes with a 'Buccaneers' dinner of spit-roast chicken and barbecue sausages. The Pirates Show may be good old-fashioned family fun, but there is also a rather more risqué, adults only version on Wednesdays and Fridays. One of the newest family attractions to hit Magaluf is the House of Katmandu. This Tibetan-style mansion, which has actually been built upside-down, is a fantasy world dedicated to the fictional explorer Kilgore Goode. The rooms are full of unusual artefacts such as instruments of torture, while interactive visual effects help to make the House of Katmandu a truly surreal and often scary experience for visitors. MAGALUF BEACHESMagaluf's sandy beach stretches for about a mile between Hotel Antilles and the headland of Torronova. Alongside it runs a promenade lined with shops, hotels, restaurants and bars. A few hundred metres from the beach is the small island of Sa Porrassa. There are plenty of water sports available in Magaluf, including scuba diving, windsurfing, parascending and pedalo hire. GETTING TO MAGALUFMagaluf is situated on the south-west coast of Mallorca on the bay of Palma. It is about 15 miles (24km) from Palma Airport.
