HOW TO GET TO LA MARINA FROM ALICANTE AIRPORT

Well there are three main ways of airport transfers from Alicante to La Marina:

Taxi to La Marina. Getting a taxi from Alicante airport to La Marina is a good option because there are unlimited airport taxis at all times of the day (and night) directly outside the doors of the arrivals terminal at Alicante airport. You won't have to wait around as you would with a bus and it will take you directly outside your hotel, villa or apartment in La Marina.

The first would be the easiest is just to hop into a taxi. This requires no preparation or looking into, as taxis are just outside the arrivals terminals. From Alicante to La Marina a taxi is going to cost €24 for flights arriving during the day and €28 for flights arriving at nights and during fiestas. Of course these prices are one way only. You still have to pay about the same when returning to the airport on your day of departure.

Tip - Agree a fixed fare before you leave the airport so you know what you will pay. Some drivers may add airport supplements and baggage supplements so getting an agreed fare first before you get in the taxi is best.

Tip - Most taxis from Alicante to La Marina only can carry four people.

Private Shuttle to La Marina. Shuttle transfers are a way of reaching La Marina. There are many competitors out there so it is always good to compare rates and providers. As a rough guide you can expect to pay around sixty pounds sterling for a return transfer for a family of four, ninety two pounds sterling for parties of five to ten people and one hundred and sixty pounds for more than ten passengers. These prices are based on a return transfer.

Pre-booking a private shuttle bus from Alicante airport to La Marina will get you a much cheaper rate than taking a taxi on arrival. As with a taxi, a private shuttle takes you directly to your La Marina hotel or apartments in La Marina. Slight downsides could be that the airport shuttle also has other people going to other La Marina hotels so it may not be as quick or direct as a taxi. A company called Shuttledirect.com are very reputable and cheap. The size of vehicle varies from small mini-buses to coach transfers to La Marina.

La Marina Car hire. Hiring a car from Alicante airport to get you to La Marina is a great idea if you also want to explore the fantastic Costa Blanca area of Spain. Car hire from Alicante airport is very cheap so it could be a good option even if you don't intend to use the car much.

La Marina is very much a compact beach resort with usually plenty of La Marina bars, restaurants and beaches within walking distance, so unless you want to go on a number of excursions you probably don't need to consider taking out La Marina car hire.
