GUIDE TO RENTING A VILLA IN ELCHE

Elche is a great place to rent a villa. It is located not far from the beaches on the Southern Costa Blanca coast of Spain.

Elche isn't as green and lush as the northern Costa Blanca towns but it is near some great sandy beaches that stretch for miles and miles.

Property prices are lower in Elche then towns in the northern Costa Blanca and there are huge urbanisations so renting a villa in Elche will be cheaper in this area than anywhere else on the Costa Blanca.

Elche is a fast growing area of the Costa Blanca so the chances are that you will be renting a new villa in Elche with all the modern facilities you would expect in your own home.

The area near Elche also has the most golf courses on the Costa Blanca so it is perfect for a golfing holiday in Spain.

Why stay in a Elche hotel when you can rent a villa in Elche for less?

ELCHE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS AND THINGS TO DO AND SEE

Elche’s economy is not based on tourism or construction but on footwear. Elche has over 1000 shoe factories which is important not only for Spain but also for the rest of Europe. Part of the municipality is on the coast but mainly the city is fifteen kilometres away from the Mediterranean Sea.

Agriculture still plays an important role in Elche producing dates, olives, cereals and pomegranates. The rubber trade employs close to 20% of Elche's inhabitants.

Make sure you visit the local market selling fresh fruits and vegetables as well as other locally-made goods and produce - market day in Elche is on a Monday.

Elche is famous for its palm trees. The Elche Palm Grove is an orchard with over 200,000 palm trees and has been proclaimed a heritage site by UNESCO in 2000.

ELCHE VILLA RENTAL AND RENTING A VILLA IN ELCHE - LISTING THE ADVANTAGES

* Cost. Provided there are at least four or more people then you should make consider savings on your Elche villa rental as compared to the price of staying in a Elche hotel.

* Space and freedom. Your Elche villa rental is a home away from home instead of a small hotel room with no facilities.

* Privacy. Most Elche villa rentals will have an element of privacy - at least more than you would get if staying in a Elche hotel.

* Facilities. Most Elche villa rentals are likely to have a private pool, your own kitchen of course which you wouldn't have in a hotel room and many other features.

* Kids. Staying in a villa in Elche is great when you have kids. You can relax much more - as they tend to wake up early there is nothing worse than trying to keep them quiet when everyone else is trying to sleep - or having other people making noise when you are trying to get your own kids to sleep.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS WITH ELCHE VILLA RENTAL AND RENTING A VILLA IN ELCHE

Many villas in Elche have been built on large urbanisations or estates. You may find your Elche villa rental is not so quiet as you may find many people partying next door to you. So if renting a Elche villa with young children you need to be concerned about noise levels.

Many villas for rent in Elche are small - do make sure the villa rental is large enough and private enough.

Booking a villa in Elche with it's owner is one way of getting a good price but consider that if there are problems with your Elche villa rental you could be on your own.

Remember you are in a foreign country and if there are problems with the villa you may struggle to explain. You won't have these potential issues in a Elche hotel and if you book with a recognised villa holiday company they will be on call - speaking English - to fix any problems with the villa.

If you rent a villa in Elche with friends or family make sure you don't rent a villa that is too small or you may end up hating each other by the end of the villa holiday!
