Ronda is a city located inland approximately one hundred kilometres away from the city of Malaga with its airport and port in the province of Andalucia on the Costa del Sol. The city has over 35 000 permanent residents and dates back to the Neolithic Age. Ronda was first settled by the Celts as far back as 600 BC who named the city Arunda.

Ronda is known for its spectacular views as the city is located in a mountainous area, around 750 m above sea level with the Guadelvin River splitting the city in half the city, it also sits atop the 100 metre deep El Tajo Canyon.

Ronda has also has some points of cultural interest which include the three bridges, the Puente San Miguel or Roman Bridge, the Puente Viejo and the Puente Nuevo which span the canyon. The Corrida Goyaesca hosts the annual bullfight, the Arab Baths which date back to the 13th and 14th centuries, and the town hall has views spectacular views over the El Tajo canyon.

Ronda is a popular tourist destination in its own right with a good selection of hotels but otherwise is well worth a day trip for tourists staying in the sea side resorts of Estepona, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Benalmadena.
