This page is a guide to Benidorm's gay scene giving you the reasons why you should visit Benidorm if you are gay. Benidorm has a particular area of the town which has a high concentration of gay bars and we tell you which ones are worth visiting.

GAY BENIDORM

For anybody looking to party and looking for great nightlife with lots of bars pubs, clubs and shows Benidorm is a great choice. Added to that in the old town of Benidorm there is a particular section known as the gay village which has a high concentration of gay bars and gay pubs making Benidorm a great holiday destination for gay people.

Benidorm is probably the most visited tourist resort on the Costa Blanca. Within easy reach of Alicante and many cheap budget airlines flying from the U.K. to Spain makes Benidorm a popular vacation resort.

Benidorm also has over 300 sunny days annually, mild winters and very little chance of rain, so whatever time of year you choose to visit you are sure to have good weather with you.

Benidorm has beautiful blue flag beaches at Playa Levante and Playa Poniente with promenades boasting a wide range of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. There are also five theme parks and plenty of cultural excursions if you fancy exploring the Costa Blanca.

Benidorm also is known to be the party capital of the Costa Blanca with abounding with bars, dicos, pubs, clubs and nightclubs. The KM Disco, Penelope Beach Club and Bar, KU Dance Club are three of the most popular nightclubs in Benidorm. Most of these clubs are on the Avenida Communitat Valencia - just five minutes by taxi out of the centre of Benidorm.

It is the in thing to do to catch a few shows featuring live acts, impersonators, bands, and comedians at the various bars while enjoying a few drinks and then later when the night clubs open, to party away until the next morning.

The Levante area of Benidorm is very British with groups of lads on stag weekends and ladies on their hen weekends. This area has the notorious English Square. The reason we mention this in our gay Benidorm section is that in this area you will find many bars with tribute bands and acts which would also appeal greatly to gay people as many of the acts are pretty camp.

Tribute acts and bands include: Take That, Queen, Cher, Westlife, Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson, Girls Aloud and Meatloaf.

The most infamous show that Benidorm is renowned for is Sticky Vicky. The complete polar opposite of the classy Benidorm Palace show, Sticky Vicky is a lady who performs an adult magic show in various bars and clubs. Not for those who are easily shocked. The show is usually free of charge and the venue changes nightly.

Popular (straight) bars in the Levante area include: Western Saloon, Morgan Tavern, Chaplins, Stardust and Rockefellers.

One of the most essential nightlife activities is to go see a show at the famous Benidorm Palace. This is a popular show whether you are gay or straight, basically it is a cabaret show with dinner included, it involves lots of dancing and extravagant costumes.

Benidorm has long been known to be the number one gay resort in Spain, it is far more reasonably priced than Sitges near Barcelona or Gran Canaria. Currently there are around twenty five gay clubs in Benidorm and around another twenty gay friendly places to stay and eat out.
