Guide to the theme parks located in the tourist resort of Benidorm on Spain's Costa Blanca.BENIDORM THEME PARKSpending your vacation at a theme parked resort has become a very popular way to spend your vacation. Similar to Orlando in Florida, with its Disney theme parks, Sea World and water parks, Benidorm has put itself on the map by presenting Terra Mitica, Terra Natura and Aqua Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar. There are many theme parks in Spain but no location has as many close together as Benidorm has. HOW TO GET TO BENIDORM To spend your vacation in Benidorm you will need to book your flights to fly into Alicante, Murcia or Valencia airports. Hiring a car is also a must, as everything and everywhere is spread out. There is a bus and tram service once you are in Benidorm that will take you to Aqualandia and Mundomar for free if you purchase your tickets at the station, but Terra Mitica and Terra Natura are situated on the outskirts on the hills not far from the AP7 or N332 so your own transport is necessary. TERRA MITICA THEME PARK BENIDORMTerra Mitica is an Ancient World based theme park with roller coasters and rides. Rome, Greece, Iberia, Egypt and the Mediterranean Islands. There are rides for every member in the family from the scary Magnus Colossus and SynKope, while families can enjoy the Rapids Of Argos.
There are so many rides and rollercoaster and live shows and entertainment that it is impossible to have seen and done everything in Terra Mitica in one day. The park is not open all year round but opens its gates on April the 16th 2010 and closes its gates on December the 18th 2010. Ticket prices are €27 for adults, €20.50 for children and pensioners. An experience not for the faint-hearted can be had at Aqua Natura swimming with sharks and rays. AQUALANDIA THEME PARK BENIDORMAqualandia is a water park located in the heart of Benidorm. It opens its gates on the 22nd of May 2010 and will close its gates around the end of September. There are over twenty rides and flumes of various difficulties. In fact there are height restrictions on many of the rides of 125cms or the height of an average seven and a half year old as some of the rides are some of the most daring in heights, steepness and speed in Europe. There are rides for the whole family and the mini zig zag, as well as the large adventure pool with its activities are firm favourites. The Black Hole, Kamikaze, Amazonas, Zoo Immersion, Rapids, Splash, Big Bang are just some of the rides. As the Spanish sun is very strong remember to pack plenty of high factor sun lotion to keep your exposed skin healthy. There are a few cafeterias and rest areas scattered through the park to provide excellent quality food and refreshments. Take a minute before leaving the park to check out the photos taken of you and your family at the exits, they are pricey but are of excellent quality and make a fabulous memento.
